Summary of our hack day in London
Lots of discussions and outcomes from our hack day in London on November 23rd
DNAdigest organised a hack day on the topic of privacy and security issues related to genomics data sharing. We had a good attendance of hackers, bioinformatics geeks, data wranglers, designers, problem solvers and individuals affected with genetic disease.
Through the course of the day we divided into groups to hold discussions on various topics related to the genomics data sharing mechanisms proposed by DNAdigest. The working groups included topics on metadata, incentives for data sharing, use interface for searching/querying genetic data, data exchange APIs and a separate group discussing issues related to security and privacy.
